See This World Differently!

We Are the Originators of Ecological Consciousness Theory

What is Ecological Consciousness Theory?
ECT is a theoretical framework that explains how our environment shapes our values and how they inform our decision-making. We utilize this lens to guide better outcomes for the public good.

This Is A Safe Space For Black Intellectuals & Those Who Support Us!

Meet Our Founder
Rev. Dr. Horace F. Whittaker, Jr.

Dr. Horace F. Whittaker, Jr. has a unique background, having worked as an artist before becoming a music teacher. He has taught thousands of students in public schools for over 20 years. As a Black Male Educator, he did research on how African American parents view themselves, their children, and the community in relation to child readiness, what can distort African American parents' views on these things, and how African American parents interpret racialization. This research led to the creation of Ecological Consciousness Theory (ECT), a theory that explains how where we live shapes our culture and how culture affects our way of thinking. We use ECT to make better decisions about how to live sustainably.
